Eudaimonia — The Good Life
Eudaimonia — The Good Life
Aristotle did not define happiness as a feeling; he defined it as a life. Eudaimonia was the ancient Greek ideal of human flourishing, the state reached not by comfort or pleasure but by living in full accordance with your deepest values, your greatest potential, and your clearest purpose. The Spartan warrior climbing toward the moon is not reaching for ease he is reaching for the summit that only those willing to keep climbing ever find. This is the philosophy that built the ancient world's greatest minds and greatest soldiers, and it asks the same question of everyone who wears it: are you living the life you are actually capable of, or are you settling for something smaller?
